One mystifying aspect of fiber optics is understanding
how the signal is passed through a fiber optic wire.
A simple explanation of the basics involved with fiber
optic transmission is watching a beam of light shining through
a dark hallway. The light is shown bounces off of all of
the surfaces but if it has a bend in the hallway it will
not be shown around the curve unless you have a mirror or
other reflective source.
This is essentially how fiber optics work. The light travels
through the glass tubes that are contained within the wire
its self. With the utilization of fiber optics it enables
the signals or data to be transferred virtually undisrupted
for long distances.
Depending upon the grade and purity of glass that is used
for the fiber optic wire the degradation of the signal is
virtually undetectable. Making fiber optics the prime option
for any of your data transfer needs.
